Dear Prospective Students:

A delegation formed by the faculty of the Taiwan International Graduate Program (TIGP) of Academia Sinica is paying a visit to various Vietnamese universities from March 12 to 15, 2007. The main purposes of the delegation are to make contact with the university faculty and students interested in pursuing their graduate studies abroad in advanced multi-disciplinary PhD programs; and to offer free English proficiency test (General English Proficiency Test – GEPT, high-intermediate level; http://www.lttc.ntu.edu.tw/E_LTTC/aboutthelttc.htm) to Vietnamese applicants who intend to apply for admission to the TIGP 2007 fall semester (for more information, please visit: http://www.tigp.sinica.edu.tw/)

For those who wish to take the free English test, please read the following note carefully:

  1. To be eligible for the English test, the applicant must send a complete application form (see attachment) to simone.ho@msa.hinet.net before March 1, 2007.

  2. This test is only designated for TIGP as an alternative to TOEFL and IELTS and is not applicable elsewhere.

  3. A valid passport bearing the number appears on the application form must be presented to the proctor before the test; other identification documentation will not be accepted.

More information: If a passport is not a common ID for Vietnamese, alternatively, any valid ID issued by the government and containing the following items can be accepted for our purpose: 1. a clear photo (a colour one is preferred) must be attached to the ID and stamped by the dept that issued the ID; 2. the ID must bear the name, date of birth and gender of the holder; 3. the ID must bear a unique number which should be filled in the application form, as a substitute for the passport number.

The ID must be presented to the proctor on the day of the test.
